BACKGROUND

XANTAH Kennels and Cattery and XANTAH Safari Pet Lodge is one of the larger, more exclusive and professional boarding facilities in Gauteng. XANTAH Kennels and Cattery is situated in Willow Glen in the Eastern Suburbs of Pretoria, behind the German School, east of Pretoria. The Xantah Safari Pet Lodge is situated off Garsfontein Road, 8.5km from the Woodlands Boulevard.

The name XANTAH originates from one of the many Greek Islands and stands for "The Island of Love and Romance".

HISTORY

Xantah Pomeranians was established by Mr E.H. Schroeder in 1964, and was taken over by his daughter Mrs Renee Fourie in 1991.

In 1976 Mr and Mrs E.H. Schroeder established Xantah Kennels and Cattery.

Dr. Guido Schroeder (Cat and Dog Nutritionist) took over the business in 1995. Phenomenal growth in the popularity of the enterprise necessitated Guido devoting his attention full time from July 1998.

In July 2006 Xantah was proud to announce the opening of a new luxurious Safari Pet Lodge in Zwavelpoort due to the demand for exclusive facilities in the new Eastern suburbs of Pretoria, such as Mooikloof, The Hills, Woodhill, Woodlands, Mooikloof View, Mooikloof Ridge, Grootfontein, Mooikloof Heights, Rietfontein, etc.
